Barnoff Wine Cellar
  • Barnoff Wine Cellar is a continuation of long history. The owner, Mr. Vakhtang Barnoff keeps the tradition of ansestors and makes wine from the selected sorts of indigenous grapes. During years, he has collected rare local sorts of grapes which he cultivates and often experiments to reveil new sorts worthy for excellent wine production. 

    It has been few years that Mr. Vakhrang has been joined by his son. Andro has dedicated all of his spare time to winemaking and, together with his father, became active owner of the family cellar. 

    The brand also enjoys active support of Mr. Vakhtang's another child Tamara Barnoff - Budapest based designer who takes care of the design of the Barnoff Wine Cellar produce. 

    Of course, the heart of the brand is mother of the family, Nana Javrishvili. She nurtures every single detail of the family's joint endeavors. 

    Barnoff Wine Cellar offers an excellent artisan wines to the consumers. Each variety is produced in very small quantities that rarely exceeds few hundred bottles. Barnoff Wine Cellar is made for making excellent wines. Business is perceived here as only a side dimension of the Cellar.

  • Barnoff vineyard mainly harvests Tavkveri, Chinuri and Goruli Mtvane varieties, while Shavkapito and Muscatt varieties are also getting ready for the next year harvest. Other varieties such as Gomis Tetra, Jvara and Danakharuli are also cultivated in small quantities. 

    The vineyard is located on the western slopes of Tedzami Valley, elevated by 810 meters from the sea level. The soil is clayish. The Sun illuminates the vineyard all day long without interference. Typical for Kartli climate decides that grapes enter their full ripeness by the second half of October. 

  • Barnoff Wine Cellar is a traditional type of the cellar where stainless steel, glass, oak barrels and kvevris are used as wine vessels. 

    Barnoff Wine Cellar now makes wine of Tavkveri and Chinuri while preparing to be joined by Shavkapito and Muscatt in the nearest.
