the wine Tvishi derives its name from the fantastic village Tvishi which is embedded on the southern slopes of Khvamli mountains. It is hard to access but also hard to leave, once there. In this divine environment ripens exceptional Tsolikouri grapes, which, in the hands of experienced wine maker, converts to really incredible wine.
Beqa Lachkepiani is a real gem of winemaking of these places. He is a bio farmer with deep knowledge and significant practice. Apart from winemaking, Beqa runs a vine nursery and his rootstocks are among the top best in entire Western Georgia.
The 30-50 year bio vineyard is set up on the southern slopes of Khvamli mountains, in the village of Tvishi.
Beqa makes wine only in kvevri. Following the local tradition, qvevris are burried in open, under the giant trees, where they spend their time until early springtime. From this on, the wine travels to stainless vessels in his pristine clean nice cellar.
